Well, If your running stock exhaust you might think about upping the exhaust side duration a little bit to help flow through stock manifolds and exhaust. If you choose this cam you might think about doing headers and full exhaust at the same time. I wouldnt do to much P&P on the intake i dont think it really benifits much from that.
Try to atleast do a full exhaust and headers plus a good flowing intake for this cam and you will be in good shape.

I will find one who knows this motor though (if anyone has a suggestion of who I should be talking to, please advise!), and it will be at least 220 intake duration, possibly a bit more. Tuning will be released shortly, and I believe the norm for the V6 cams is going to get larger:)
Compcams dont know diddly about cams for our cars. I think they pull specs out of there rear. You can try Tom at SSM he knows alot, maybe also try talking with Zoomer. 220 duration is a bit large. That 218 cam you have already thumps hard. Theres got to be a point when enough is enough for duration. I think at a point you will lose driveability and have such a problem tuning the pig you will lose power.
Eh, they said the same thing on LS1's before LS1edit came out too:) A 228 cam used to be HUGe for an LS1, and now is a medium range daily driver cam. And I finally found a rep from Comp that wants to help

I think you should go the .224 cam.... that would be a lumpy cam.. :D

I am now looking towards a 220/224 (which there is bigger being run in the FWD cars I see). Yes, HP Tuners should be the answer to all our issues! I see the aftermarket growing ALOT with good tuning, as it is key for any performance vehicle at some point or another. And this car is my only transportation, so I do believe it will still be daily driveable (more-so than it is now even) once tuning is released. Stay tuned, and sorry for hijacking this thread:)

The extreme 4X4 216/216 cam has no potential.
It sucks. It stalls all the time, has a weak powerband and the gas mileage is terrible.
Don't buy this cam! ;)

Very true.
Plus, higher duration tends to raise the powerband.
If you make a mental plot of your RPMS vs TIME as you go down the track, most of your time is spent in the midrange powerband.
So it is wise to try and keep some good low end/midrange power.
This can all change with gearing, but a some point, your engine will make less power with more duration.

That is precisely why people have had success with the GT cam from ZZP. It's power is made below the rev limiter thus under the curve on the stock tuning.

When i had my 218/218 cam on a 113lsa it thumped pretty hard. I dont see how anybody could use more duration and call it streetable. That cam was borderline not streetable for me. And i still dont see any more power being made with a larger cam even with proper tuning. I had my cam tuned pretty well for what i had and it still thumped hard. But also i hope somebody proves me wrong and im sure there is going to be plenty of you trying larger cams. Good luck.
