is it possible to remove the heads without taking off the valve springs? my mechanic told me that i didnt have to take them off...any imput would be awesome. thanks

Your mechanic is correct. Just take off the rockers, and the pushrods.
Don't forget to label them when removed. If you are unsure which is intake and which is exhaust. Label them front to back on each bank in a simple code... 1A 1B, 3A 3B, 5A 5B etc.<b>15.41</b> @ 89.80 & 15.45 @ <b>91.64</b>, 2.21 60ft, 3,440 raceweight, using <b>OEM</b> Equipment. <br />\'98 L67/M49 w/ 134,000 miles before spun bearing. \"<i>It\'s all stock, Baby</i>!\"
