Ripped my engine apart today. My oil pressure had dropped and I heard a tapping so i ripped the oil pan off and discovered that i had spun the #1 cylinder, connnecting rod bearing. It ruined my crank and bearings! So no im debating on whether to buy a new motor, maybe any LS1, or try to find a new crank or v6. So if anyone has a motor laying around they're not using, let me know!!

how do you "spin" a bearing? how do you avoid doing it?96 Camaro M5. Take it to the machine shop.... they might be able to fix that. However, for the price of maching you could prob. just replace the entire bottom end of the motor with a junkyard 3.8.
When life gives you lemons make lemonade right. Like you mentioned, now you have a perfect excuse to swap in a LS1.

look on ebay you can useally get a used one off there for like 500
or talk to www.TAcreationsusa.com they have all year 3.8 motors and if not they can help you track one down got to there web site and give them a callwww.turbov6camaro.com

Get a used crank with no damage cut/polished and put new rings and bearings in the engine. No reason to replace the entire bottom end....just fix what broke. Shouldn't cost much.\"Since I started working, every single day has been worse than the day before, so that every day you see me is the worst day of my life\"
