  • Need Help!

I just drove my camaro back from Tx to Ny (2000 miles) and didnt have a problem. Two days later im driving and my car starts to sputter and hesitate. I took it to autozone and it was throwing a code for the oxygen sensors and a misfire code. I replaced the oxygen sensors and had the computer cleared. Shortly thereafter, it threw another code saying that he #5 cylinder was misfiring. I replaced the plug and had the code cleared, but it came back. All the time the car is still hesitating. I went back and replaced the wire and had it cleared. Now, i can tell its running on all 6 cylinders, but the comp is now giving me a P0300 code. I have a gt2 cam and i know that it will set off that code, but im sure its still misfiring bc my car is shaking pretty bad when i mash on the gas. Im not sure what to do now. Any ideas were to look next. By the way, i hear a exhaust leak coming somewhere from the drivers side, do you think they may have anything to do w/ it?

i wouldnt think its the exhaust..have you done any tuning for the cam?..if not id try getting a tune from tsp or intense cuz i know they change the timing, idle rpm, shift points, etc..all sorts of stuff for a cam

Ive had the cam for over a year w/ out any problems like this. I dont think the tuning is the problem. I dont think its the exhaust either. Im leaning toward a bad coi, ignition modual, or imporper timing. Although, im not sure how the timing would have just changed for no reason?

you test the coils by checking the resistance across the two top terminals and then the two bottom terminals. I forget the exact specs but if you call up autozone, they'll be able to tell you the primary and secondary test specs. Its for coil pack C849. the top terminal check is the secondary test and the bottom terminal test is the primary check. being the p300 code, which is random/multiple misfire, i would check your coils first, but I'm leaning more towards the module only cause one specific cylinder is not being called out. switch the coils around and see if the problem changes first though. oh, one last thing... it sounds dumb but you do have all your plugs gapped correctly right? ive seen this happen before to one of my friends who wasted a lot of time before he just rechecked his gaps and found them to be off..
