With a regrind, the .050" lift the duration will be the same as a COMP grind... however as the lift roller goes over the camshaft, on the COMP the valve will open much faster than the regrind.. which will mean more duration at higher lifts which means more air to go in and more power.
The regrind will idle very choppy yes, but that is because the .005" lift duration is huge due to the slower ramps... You could go with a 218/218 112 COMP and have the same driveability and make much more power.
Picking a cam is a huge decision.. I think your specs are awesome. However I wonder why regrind vs a COMP cam from a true core?
The only reason I could see Tom going with a regrind vs a COMP is I believe COMP is out of cores.
When I had my stock camshaft out and compared it to the COMP camshaft, the ramp rates were VERY noticebally different. By ramp rates I mean the angle at with the lobe climbs to the peak. Faster ramp rates mean more duration at the peak. More duration over all at every point on the lobe. But it also means a little more stress on valvetrain components.
my .02 for now.

We did decide to go with a regrind because comp is out of cores. He said he can get this cam at my doorstep in 2 weeks. I dont know how long it will take comp to get cores so I am going this route for now.
I have been without a car for about 3 months. I really dont feel like waiting another 3 for the compcam. I am going to call comp on monday and see if I can get any details on the cores. If it is too long out I am sending Tom payment off on monday.
Hey Magnus, does comp grind there cam to use stock pushrods? I know pushrod size will change bceause your heads are milled. But lets say stock heads and a comp cam. Do they use stock pushrods?
I put a Comp cam in with stock heads and stock push rods. Although i did buy new lifters to put in with the cam.
