it's been a long time since i f*** up the engine on my car, but the time has come and i'm ready to give life to my baby again .
i have saved some money already and i'm considering the use of a turbocharge system (Please see details on forced induction). so i've changed my mind regarding the cam i would use. (gt cam before) and i think i'm going to go with the vs one. do we have a better alternative???
You;re going to hear some differing opinions on turbo cams. Some people like to use revers split duration cams on turbo cars. Others don't (me). If I were you, I'd go ask the people on www.turbobuick.com and see what kind of guidelines they give you. Whatever you decide, make sure it has a high LSA, and decent lift (which the VS cam does have).
The Stage 3 cam is the one i plan on running if i keep the 3.8L and go turbo like my original plans.
The Stage 2 cam is the one the Intense-racing is using in there 10.998 @ 128.32 mph turbo GTP

thanks slacker, i was reading about those intense turbocharged cams
here is what i found from their website
"'These are the cams for those of you looking to develop turbo setups for the 3800 Series II. The Stage 2 Turbocharged Cam is right on the hairy edge of being safe to use with stock cylinder heads, and it is ideal for use with modified heads and stronger valvesprings (see INTENSE™ Stage 3 CNC L67 Cylinder Heads). The powerband is strongest from 2,800 to 6,800 RPM. The Stage 3 Turbocharged Cam should NOT not be used with stock cylinder heads and/or stock valvesprings. It is engineered for use with highly modified cylinder heads and oversized valves, and is a perfect match to the INTENSE™ Stage 3 CNC L67 Cylinder Heads. We predict a strong powerband from 3,000 to 7,000 RPM. With either choice, you will need to use a higher stall torque converter, such as our INTENSE™ 245 mm. Extreme Duty (TCC-350) Torque Converter.
-We recommend that a new timing chain and timing chain tensioner be installed in conjunction with any new 3800 cam
-We recommend CompCams "OE R Series" Hydraulic Roller Lifters, High Load Valvesprings, and Valvespring Retainers with any aftermarket camshaft
-We recommend INTENSE™ High-Performance Pushrods with any aftermarket camshaft
-INTENSE™ Camshafts are hydraulic rollers, so no break-in period is required
-No PCM changes are required, however the INTENSE™ Stage 2 Turbocharged Cam may set an occasional S.E.S. light after extended idle periods. The Stage 3 Turbo cam WILL set the S.E.S. light at idle.
-Stage 2 Turbo Cam users will benefit from higher WOT shift points (6,500 to 6,800 RPM) and rev limiter settings (7,000 RPM). Stage 3 users will benefit with even higher WOT shift points (6,700 to 7,000 RPM) and rev limiter settings (7,200 RPM)."
hell it would be more fun to drive my car after 3 months now the problem would be hitting the darn rev limiter at 6000 RPM's.
ok, looks like this is the one since nobody else replied.
so what about california emissions and this cam,
i want to get that turbo but i want to be compaliant with emissions too. Also what about the sound, mild or hot.
i don't care to much about the ses light at idle.
please guys shoot your answers
