Im putting a new timing chain in the car soon, and i'm thinkin about puttin a cam in while i have everything off. I wanted to know what would be a good cam + lifter/rocker package to throw in there, any help is greatly appreciated, also, would any reprogramming, etc.. have to be done? thanks

FWIW, there's alot more work to swap the cam when changing the timing chain. Changing the chain will get the front cover off, but not the rockers, intake manifolds, etc. ;)

its a lot of work to change the cam, i would make sure you have about a week to work on it, but it makes a big difference. a put in a comp 206/212 cam, and am happy with it. no tuning or anything. the cam in the 3.4 sucks. look at ftpp.net they have some good cam and valvetrain packages, for like 300 bucks you can get almost everything you need for a cam swap. i paid 260 just for the cam and lifters from a shop by my house, but i wish i would have bought it off ftpp.net. read about the 212/212 cam cause i wish i would have went bigger than the one i have now, but not worth doing it all over again. anyway if you know what youre doing swapping cams will make a very noticeable difference.

Yeah man, we have plenty of cams for the 3.4L V6 as well as valvetrain parts. If you want to put together some kind of package, give me a shout and I can help you out with that as well as make sure you have everything you need the first time to minimize down-time.

my car is so much funner to drive after putting a cam in it. if you really want to make some power, you can get your heads and intakes ported and polished then you can get a custom grind cam. thats serious power for our 3.4
