• driveplate shim?

I have a 3.4 camaro and I have pulled the motor to put a new motor on I pulled the tranny at the same time. I took the old motor and tranny apart and put the used 3.4 and bolted it to the tranny. There was a ring that went on the driveplate and put that in the right spot I believe. There is a quarter inch space between the torque converter and driveplate. At first I thought it was pinched so I jacked up where the tranny and motor meet but that didn't help, and I spun the torque converter to see if it was pinched and that isnt the case. Am I missing a shim in between the driveplate and crank? I was thinking I could use longer bolts but that could sheer.

Did you line up the tits on the shaft with the slot in the torque converter?

feeling a little green at the gills today. Why not grab the converter and pull toward driveplate. Motor and tranny together and motor in tomorrow?
