hey, i was wondering if anyone can tell me where i can pick up a kit to o-ring a block. I know i've seen them advertised in magazines and such, but I cant seem to locate any kits right now. I'm currently building an engine to hold a decent amount boost and would like the added security of an o-ringed block. can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks

I had my heads o-ringed. You have to get a receiver groove machined into the heads or into the block to accept the o-ring. On my heads the o-ring itself is a .047 stainless wire that was file fitted on the ends to make a complete seal.\'98 A4 Camaro v6->v8 conversion, and STS kit next
v6: 13.6 Powerdyne, 13.2 150 shot, 13.8 120 shot, 14.3 85 shot, 15.7 stock
v8(na): 12.18@113, 392rwhp
Moderator on www.mtfba.org and www.frrax.com (Road Race & Autocross)
Car pics, TN Region SCCA

i've seen a do it yourself kit too where the aparatus spins inside the cylinder bore and grooves the o-ring groove just along the outside of the cylinder. They used it in a mustang mag for an older block that kept blowing head gaskets under boost and the next head gasket they used took like twice the boost before it blew. however, i cant find the issue floatin around and cant remember the name of the product. anyone have any clue what im talkin bout?

I had mine done at TEA when I got my heads. Seems like it added $200 to the price of the heads. I would want a shop that does them regularly to do it, instead of being the set they learn on...
