I'd never spend that much money for the little gain you'd get. You'd see a little difference, but not worth it, IMHO.
Also, don't forget to search. This has been talked about alot, and there are reviews by people who have done it.Matt

Its not that bad of a price really, you get pushrods with the rockers so the price is about right for a rocker/pushrod kit. Its a pretty good kit but your money would be better spent on a cam and install kit with some valvesprings. Our stock valvetrain is pretty good the only things i plan on ever upgrading are my pushrods and valvesprings, everything else is pretty good from the factory. If you want to do rockers though that isnt a bad kit.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

For JUST a rocker arm kit...unless you absolutely have to replace the stockers, I wouldn't do it unless I had already replaced lifters, cam, valves and valvesprings. I think $545 can be spent a little more effectively. They are pretty good rockers, but I would suggest spending the money somewhere else for now.1995 Pontiac Firebird

if you decide to go for high lift rockers instead of a cam swap then i would recommend the intens 3rd gen 1.9 ratio roller rockers. they are aluminum (reduces rotational mass of engine by the weight of about 1 piston. they give more lift (1.9 vs 1.8). they don't require push rod replacement (the slp kit comes with pushrods because their rockers use a proprietary oiling groove on the rocker...not because they want you to have better pushrods.) The intense 3rd gen rockers work fine with stock push rods. ALSO: for both sets of rockers you WILL NEED STRONGER VALVE SPRINGS. Get LS6 medium load valve springs. if you don't put stiffer valve springs in then you will get valve float at 5400 rpm or so. For the valve springs you will need a CLAMP style compressor...not a lever. you will also need an airhold fitting and an aircompressor...or you can keep moving the piston to top dead center and stuff nyolon rope in the sparkplug whole to keep the valve up while changing spring. (renting an aircrompressor is better)
The 1.9 3rd gens are $369 dollars. a set of LS6 springs is $100. that leaves you with 50 bucks to get an airhold fitting and clamp style valve compressor. not bad comapred to the slp product.
when you are done you car will pull harder from about 4000 rpm and up (a noticeable powerband increase) If you upgrade the exhaust system (I have full 3" system from y pipe to tail pipe) the 4000 rpm powerband disappears and is replaced by an engine that is just plain faster all the time.
if you have the money and the time then it is a great mod. it does not require computer tuning.
If you think you would ever upgrade the cam....then don't do rockers. Just pick one or the other. A cam is a much more serious endeavor but can yield much more HP increase...but can also cause other issues that require computer tuning.
for more info on aftermarket rockers check out the grandprix forums. The FWD cars use them alot more than people do here. (kinda hard to change cam on FWD car...lol.)
