  • rebuild or replace?

should i take a another v6 with super six stuff and tbyrne stuff on it and replace my 3.8 or should i just get an ls1??..i dont really want to go with an ls1 id prefer i jsut make a v6 fast..but which do yall think?..im leaning towards getting a new 3.8 block and gettign better stuff for it

Ls1 stock will always be stronger than the 3.8. theres no replacement for displacement. Unless you like having to spend 2x as much to go just as fast.... just my 2 cents

well a 3.8 with with super six rods and pisotns supersix power pak cam slp 1.8 ratio arms and pushrods that setup i have been told is very very potent and supercharged is pretty vicsious..ok now i have done v6 swaps in old cars before but what involves a ls1 swap..what do i have to change? as far as trans missions stuff and rear end stuff?

alot of work and time goes into a ls1 swap. the reason i didnt do an ls swap is because i cant keep up with the ls1 locals. i will show you this weekend the fast ls1 cars in nrh.

            For best results:

            00+ LS1 Engine and wiring harness,PCM etc.
            T56 trans,
Twelve bolt would be a good idea.

              a stock LS1 will be fine with a 10 bolt, a 12 bolt is 100% unnecessary

a good v6 engine build is much much easier then a v8 swap. You may go further with the v8 later down the road but its alot of money and work getting the v8 to work right. good luck either way.

Thats true to a point. But I agree with him a little. I would like a fast as hell N/A or forced indusation V6. Just so when you pull up next to someone and they are like 100% sure you are going to have NO chance, then you blow them away, and the look on their face. :D
