  • LT1 in a 98+ V6

Anything that would make this impossible or ridiculously difficult to do (as compared to an LS1 swap)?

LS1 swap would be the easiest and well worth EVERY PENNY!!!!!

LS1 may be more $$$, but you would have to spend even more on an LT1 setup to have comparable power to the LS1.

Magnus, I noticed you have done an LS1 swap yourself. Where did you get the motor and tranny and how much did they cost?

wouldn't the drivetrains be different sizes? and the engine mounts, the radiator, the length from the tranny to the rear end, the wiring and like everything that changed from 97 to 98? older motor in newer car... imho, spend the extra money and do the LS1 if you are gonna do it

I am currently putting a LT1 in my 98 Camaro. Still working out the bugs. I think LS1 would have been cheaper in the long run. Listen to magnus, it will be easier for you or your mechanic to put in LS1. I wish i had done that.

I highly recomend purchasing from Brent@tacreationsusa.com , he is one hell of a guy.

To this day I still order all of my f-body parts from him.
