  • for all 3.4s wanting a cam.

Ok I did know if I should put it here but I did. This is a list from crane cams and prices for the items. the prices are based on jegs and summitracing.
Well I am going to give you a list from just crane cams.

Crane Cams Camshaft kit 2030 $159.99
Crane Cams Valve Springs 99848-12 $64.99
Crane Cams Rocker Arms 25759-12 $361.99
You might also want to install a double roll chain that runs for about $89. I know all this stuff looks expensive but it should add over 45hp. You do that and get the nuteck heads watch out you got some more power.

This way if you ever forget you do not have to start another post.

Yes I did find some comp cams. I don't know which camshaft is better though. I know with crane you get a lot of other stuff along with the cam. Yes do contact them about the mod encyc please. It would be easier on them to have one big page of mods then to have people keep asking.

[ November 30, 2001: Message edited by: zlightning ]94-3.4 are the rockers you mentioned full rockers like the crane or just roller tips?

um yea stock stuff sucks. this runs better and easier=less friction then stock. it has higer lift.

I have a full listing of GMPP 3.4 parts as well. FYI, gmpp roller rockers are a lot cheaper than cranes'. Perhaps the mods would want these lists to put in the mod encyclopedia? I would be willing to put a nice list of both company's parts together. Comp Cams also has 3.4 cams/accessories too.

      45hp? HAHA, yea riiight...

don't discard the Idea of a cam custom made for your specs. Thats where the "big" power is when choosing a cam.

last time I checked, about 3 months ago, the price for the 3.4 cam kit i the gmpp was $118.00. save some bucks over jegs or summit. it is the cam & lifters in the 3.4 crate motor.

if my 2.8 is salvagable I'm going to stick it in mine, otherwise I'l be getting a used 3.4 and still enjoy a bigger cam.

Supersix will do it on request. I emailed them a while back and they said they can do it. $1500.

Nutek used to have 3.4 stuff under special projects on their old website but i don't know on their new one.

btw people. just fyi. the GMPP stuff is for the 2.8/3.1L cars. the GMPP camshaft in the 3.4 crate motor is the same one you have sitting in your 3.4L engines STOCK.

just something you might wanna think about.

also, why goto supersix for $1500 head job when Nutek will do a headjob, full valve train, all the P&P you could want, a custom grinded cam, rollers, chain, works, for $1650

Wow, now I'm looking past all the bolt-ons and thinking of camshafts, intake manifolds, heads, etc. Just curious though, does anyone actually HAVE any of this done to their 3.4? If so, what kind of gains were realistically noticed, and was it worth it? Thanks!
