there's 2 types of compression, static and dynamic. static compression is based on bore, stroke, piston thickness, piston design(dome/dish/flat-top), head gasket thickness, and combustion chamber volume. dynamic compression can change based on how much air/fuel gets into the cylinders, camshaft design, atmospheric conditions, ect.

You're referring to static compression, it's the ratio of your cylinder volume at Bottom Dead Center (when piston is at the bottom of it's downstroke) compared to the volume of the combustion chamber (when piston is at TDC, or top of its stroke). It's changed by changing your combustion chamber volume, bore, stroke, and other factors. It has nothing to do with the computer

I went with a Blower cam out of the comp catalog, its like 210/220 .512/.512 115LS Used it for nitrous, gained 40 HP over the stock Cam, was 171hp/220tq stock cam. just a cam no heads or tuning went 212/220 at the top of the stock rev limiter, cam card says its good until 6500+. Torque isnt really there, more of a top end cam. power comes in at about 3000.

Results, .5 seconds gain on motor, 14.61
        Nitrous, 13.30

Cam has a good lope to it, not too hard when it warms up. it will set the SES light if you let it idle for a long, I mean long time. With a good set of heads and some tuning, should be a pretty nasty set up. But like people have said, a cam is a pretty important thing, dont get into it unless you know what you are doing and what you are looking to gain. wrong cam.... slow, or not streetable car.
