Got one head off tonight, and was thinking of porting it out to decrease compression, then though t "what are the cc differences between the 2.8 & 3.4 motors? just wondering cause lower compression = more psi I can run.

if you are talking about the cubic inch sizes of these engines the 2.8L= 170ci and the 3.4=207ci. a liter is approx. 61ci's so take 2.8 times 61. this is not exact but is very close.Sebring Silver 2000 Camaro SS <br />Currently working on a 409ci ironblock LS1 setup.

not cubic inches of the motors, the volume of the heads, i.e- the heads I took off my 77 T/A are 6X-4 which are approx 94cc heads. SBC heads are usually 64cc.
need vol of 3.4 heads

51.35cc. according to my GM Rebuild Kit which includes a lot of technical info. thats from the 3.4L engine, 1994 year (of course the engine didnt change from 1993-1995).
and according to a Fiero enthusiast website, the 2.8L V6 has a 28cc combustion chamber..seems a little small to me so you might wanna check this, but thats the skinny on the matter...
hope that helps.

apparently the 28cc head was for the aluminum heads, & ia found that the 2.8 head is 50cc. The bores on my block look pretty good, I'll probobly get the 3.4 heads & prep them, at least they come with the bigger valves & better springs.1978 Formula 461 in progress of being built
