nope..i tell them..they just dont tell the company i get the motors from ;) ..done it before..and they like it cuz they get paid too..the company pays for their labor..i dont have to do sh*t..they're pretty awesome guys though and they know a LOT

im pretty sure it only backfired cuz of a lean condition..and im pretty sure that backfire blew the gasket..coulda used an in-tank pump..i think it may have also just been decaying over time due to the high shots..i just wanted my goal and then that was that..did it and im done kinda thing

so for now im out for more fun..im just running a 75 - 100 shot when i get the car back..and thats when i even run nitrous at all..and doing more worrying about appearance..i also think i may eventually sell the HP Tuners ;)

yeah basically they're really honest with me..i knew they'd tear it down..they're just not honest with the company about the warranty hehe..yeah like 97rs4life said..my HP Tuners wouldnt work for you but i would definitely look into it cuz it ROCKS

did u notice a difference with it? cus i did the hpp3, HUGE WASTE OF MONEY, i was mad, i basically paid 350 dollars for a speedometer recalibrate for my new tires and got rid of top speed limiter, other then that, i didnt notice **** on performance. will the hp tuners get rid of the code im suposed to get when i install my 160 degree thermostat on my 2000? i heard it does, but also, how much did u pay for it?

the HP Tuners software runs about $500 and will do WAY more the hpp3..i havent had an hpp3 but i can tell you right now it will be a LOT more specific..and will allow you to tune more in depth

you can use it to program any code to stay out of the PCM..for example..i get a code for the MAF that i program out when i unplug it and run in speed density mode..i also programmed out a code that i was working on and eventually got rid of just to get my car inspected

you can also log runs..the logs will pretty much show you everything..and then you can tune based on that..i was able to get rid of about half of my KR and run .2 faster on the same shot level and same 60'..i coulda done much better but then i blew the motor cuz of the really high shots i was running

i used it to recalibrate for some things too..i had a nitrous file i would swap on the PCM when at the track, gears, injectors..a bunch of stuff..basically..i would've NEVER been able to put that car in the 12s or run a crap load of 13.1s without HP Tuners..no doubt..and i've only scratched the surface of what you can do with it [img]smile.gif[/img]

I bought mine used for $250, and I love it. You can fully tune your car for anything really. Between tranny and engine tunes you can def. feel a difference in the car.

well technically you don't need a laptop for it, you can use a tower, but then you can't log any runs like you can with a laptop which logging helps you tune it correctly.

where do i get the hp tuners other then there site, cus its confusing, wich do i get? some of the **** on there is rediculously priced, but i was told 500, so if its worth it, wich one do i buy

you would just want the standard suite for your car..that is whats about $500..you dont NEED a laptop..but you really do want one..so i got a really good one off ebay for $200..at first i was using my tower in the garage..i would use it to recalibrate things..or make changes and then try them out..but like 97rs4life said you cant log anyway..i tried to find a dealer around here that would recalibrate for my injectors and gears and nobody would do it..so for me HP Tuners was required in order to do some of my mods..then i just came to love what else i could do with it [img]smile.gif[/img]
