• Knock retard...

alright guys... I have noticed some knock while logging my runs.

I have since switched to 93 octane, and I still notice slight knock under WOT runs..

car is stock except for gutted intake, and cutout but cap was closed.

It was very slight less then 6* I'll go back over the logs later and see what the exact values were.

But should I be experiencing 0 knock. or is some knock expected. Its not consistant but comes up a little bit at the very topend of the gears.

Did you get rid of the COT protection. It has a on temperature, so just set it to like 250 or something. Might help?

doubt that will help with him getting KR...cot only adds fuel but not to the point where it will GIVE him KR.

              Suggest any others?

I am working on a tune as of now... just logging stuff to make sure everything is working 100% on the stock tune first.

I think that might be it looking over some more runs I did tonight, the knock is coming in right as I engage the power into the shift...

I assume getting rid of Torque management like most do will solve this?

Actually going back I noticed in a few other logs but not all of them I saw as much as 4-5 degrees of KR, but it was only in 3rd gear around 4700 rpms.

any idea what woudl cause that?

I am assuming this is at WOT.

Knock is usually because of a lean condition. Try adding some fuel in the PE tables.

In the "Power Enrichment Fuel Adder vs RPM vs Time" table, try subtracting .5 from every cell in the 4800 column. This will reduce the Air/Fuel ration during PE mode by .5, thus adding fuel.

If that helps, add or subtract as needed to make all KR disapear (you want it to barely disapear, so do not overshoot it by much). Let me know how it turns out.

offhand I am also going to throw in a set of autolite 605 plugs...

few people in FWD L36s have noted that this has been a good plug and it rid some of them of knock retard..

I figure couldn't hurt, I have heard from more then one person that NGK TR55 only last like 12k anyways, and I have about 15k on mine, worth just the peace of mine for the start of the racing season

even though plugs don't traditionally really stop KR
