Hi. Im new to v6 camaros. But ive been into boosted cars for years. Ive built and blown it all. My question is while everyone is busy tooling around in there boosted v6s, what block should they use to build. This is for all you average joes like me that would like to build a block in there garage rather the motor pull in there daily driver apart. ive been looking around and ive been checking out the 3.8, 3.4 and the 4.3 blocks. I dont know what problems i would run into so i decided to ask you guys. Mind you my custom turbo kit is almost done. All i need fuel managment. But i like to plan for the future. You know.

The stock 3.8 block is one hell of a tought block in and of its self, to my knowledge nobody here has been able to snap the crank, and the bottom end is damn strong as it is a cross-bolt main. The connecting rods and pistons are really the weak point though however that can be fixed with rods and pistons from the gtp or you can go to the aftermarket. Otherwise these are very stout motors that GM engineered to be boosted, the fbody variant just happens to have a couple of components specific to the n/a version of the motor. With good strong forged internals and a motor that is built correctly I really don't see a problem pushing these things as hard as the old Grand Nationals were, as this is basically a much newer derivative of that block. Hope this helped.3.42 gears w/ LSD,
Headers, Cat delete, Loudmouth,
SLP intake, K&N, Whisper Lid,
EGR delete
