well i think that mainly you would have clearence problems for a couple reasons. I don't think the air asemably would fit with a carb and most likely if you get a crate engine the distributer is going to be in the rear and there is not enough clearence back there. Look around some engines you might be able to find what you want.

Well like 95droptop said, you will have hood clearance issues if the motor is mounted in stock LS1 position the Ls1 intake is intake manifold is about as tall as the 3800 manifold, so you will need a really big cowl hood at the least.

I'd guess that your input shaft wouldn't fit unless you managed some kind of custom torque converter which I guess is possible but if you are gonna get a 350 crate motor why not just get an old 700R4 and have gone through. Honestly though if you want a V8 get on ebay and find a complete engine transmission, (whether it's manual or auto) and do a swap like that. of course you are going to need some other parts but that's the bulk of it.

go to bmrfabrication.com they have a k member/motor mounts. . . putting in a sbc is possible as is a bbc . . for driving on the street though I don't think it would be worth the trouble.

im doing the swap right now but im also putting in a th350 trans. im over 7 grand into parts not including welding labor for the trak pak and subframe connectors. if ur going to daily drive it and have the money go for it. imma use mine as a daily driver. and i might as well for wha tim putting into it. with the time and money. but it is not that hard of a swap really. i found someone to do all the work for 1500 bux. put the motor in and trans, and pull the old motor trans. wire it, make it run, do the fuel system, do guages. do everything. but i still have to buy a new set of lt1 headers for the block even though it isnt lt1 heads so they fit in the engine bay. =200 bux used. then i have some other stuff to buy = 1000 more in parts. so its not a cheap swap. plus if u are goign to use an air cleaner u will need either a cowl hood big block hood or cut a whole in your stock one which is wha tim doing. some guys around here that have it done, dont use an air cleaner. i seen this last sunday, and he has intake backfires too so hes not set up right. i seen the residue on the hood. but yeah if u want to go for it more ower to you. i konw after its done im not ever getting rid of the car. to much time and money into it. its a well worth it project dont get me wrong. but its money that could be spent on a TURBO or SC or H/O V6 NA motor build. IMO that is. But yeah im not trying to sway you away from it. its nice to see soemone with the same intrest. if you want we can talk further about it if you want to get into details.

also it should boltto the trans if im not mistaken. im prolly wrong on that, but you will get a ton of codes by keeping the ECU controlled trans. unless you have a manual then im not sure. but then again my setup is goign to have 500+hp. with 400+ going to the rears their for my project is costing me more andmore.
