How far can one go in terms of porting and polishing the intake manifold &/or heads before codes would trip and void the warranty if it were in the shop if something went wrong...?? Or even if it didnt trip any codes, would the service department be able to tell via any diagnostic checks...?

P&P the heads as much as you like, as long as the valves seal fine you won't throw any codes. SHops won't be able to tell either unless they pull the heads and look at the ports.Keith - Chicago
HP Tuners - PCM Reprogramming
97 Firebird V6 to LS1 swap
V8 9.967@132.78 1.322 60\' NA Heads/Cam
V8 10.295@128.48 1.363 60\' NA Cam Only
V8 10.987@119.31 1.422 60\' NA Stock Internals
V6 13.674@98.22 NA
V6 12.394@104.91 N20 100HP

To expand on this original question:
Will P&P'ing heads & intake do any good w/o a hotter cam or stronger induction? Nother words - would it be worth it? I've heard stuff along the lines of the flow already be great in stock setup (Me = 2002)

Cale, First I would like to say thank you....
Thank you for using this section like it should be used.... IF you didn't know this topic existed, you searched for your answer and then decided to append to it... or if you did know, you realized why create a NEW topic when your information could be replied to in this one, which helps keep this section much more organized..
Thank you Cale...
Yes, our heads to flow very well stock. This is a big reason why we do so well with power adders... If you add P&P heads to the stock cam though, you won't gain much... the camshaft doesn't have enough duration and lift to take advantage of the new potential flow..
But when you change out the camshaft, there is much more room for potential flow, but the heads do hold it back a little.. Even though they flow very well stock, when you P&P them, they flow even MORE air which means more power.
If you really want more power, then yes It's worth it.. and its best to do it at the same time as the cam... Kill 2 birds with one stone.
If $$$ is an issue, then I wouldn't do it.. just do a cam and you should still be very happy with it..
If performance is the main reason, then definately have your heads worked.
Tom@Supersixmotorsports is the one who is porting my heads. I am very confident with his work and he also offers a very affordable price.
Also, if you plan to go with a high lift cam (Anything over .500), he can prepare your heads to safely take the lift with minimal risk of breakage.
