Hey, I'm thinking about replacing the valves in this 95 3.4 i'm building... are there ANY manufacturers or performance shops that sell valves for the 3.4? hopefully backcut?

I am, think they are great. i did them with an entire engine rebuild, so i can't be too detailed for you, but they are cut smaller than the stockers have a better tullip shape for increased flow. Kinda one of those do it while your in there mods, and want as much power as possible.

Hey, I just called SI Valves and in order to get a set of valves for my 3.4L, he said he needed to know my valve size/length and also something about wether it was 8mm or not, because he had (2) different valve sizes for this engine? Somebody please help? What size do I need?

I thought people normally go for larger valves... whats the benifit of the smaller valve? also did you weight test them against your stock vavles?

                    anyone?

why are the SI aftermarket valves smaller when most people get bigger ones?

                    and...

is there any weight difference noticed?

for the record the valves that SI sells are the same size as the stock valves, going with a smaller valve would not be a good idea, not to mention pretty hard to do (adding material to the head to make the valve seal would not be fun)

as for weight difference, im not sure , although i would speculate that they are a bit lighter, ask in the pushrod performance section on www.60degreev6.com ... they are leaps and bounds better at answering 3.4L engine related questions than the people on this board
