• 3.4L V6?

Hey everyone.... Back again

Well after going from the V6 scene to the V8 scene, im considering going back to the V6 playing field.

I was carousing the timeslip page, and noticed the record for a 3.4 fbod is 15.4 N/A...

What im thinking is that I want to go after that record... In full force :D

Im wondering do you guys think id be able to get there with a custom ground cam, full P&P heads and Int. manifolds, 3800 stall, 3.73 gears, shift kit, headers and true duals, sfc's, and slicks and skinnies....

Think i'd be able to get to 14's with that?

m'eh if i made it to the track as well as a few others out there the 15.3 wouldnt be the record anymore, and yes thoes mods should get you into the 14's provided it is a semi agressive custom grind cam.

however there is no need for true duals unless you just like loud and raspy, SFC's wont be needed either, its not like you will be pulling the wheels off the ground

however i would love to see another person in the runnings for the 3.4L records(personally my new motor wont be NA though)

Last time I went to the track I blew my motor.
As if I didn't learn my lesson, I want to go again.
I have not heard of any 3.4 going to the track lately that can give some good N/A comp. in the 14's, but I root for anyone who does.

I will be in the fourteens. I just need to get the clutch (slave cylinder) issues fixed.

im trying to make my 3.4 in the 14's. i have the mids in sig, with a 212* dur @.050 440lift at 050 cam on the way, 3 angle valve job, and slight P&P and posi all coming. some basic sus upgrades also. plus a retune on my custom ecu, will this take me into the 14's?

Everyone talks about these small cams... Im thinkin something big... like a V8 sized cam
Something like 230/234 112 duration...

The true duals is also following the v8 principle. It outperforms any catback on the market, and probably weighs a little bit less (pending on if you use an Hpipe)

pretty much im just wondering if there is any aftermarket tuning for the 3.4 and if there are any companies making convertors for them?

My cam is a 228/228 on a .496/.496 valve lift....it produces plenty of power. I have yet to be able to take it to the track, but I will almost guarantee that I am in the 14's. Check the link in my sig for more details on my car.

Every one all ways likes the small cams and I don't know why.
If you go with a bigger cam you will want P&P your heads and intake. If you go some what big you will need a higher compression to help taim the cam.
I don't know if there are high stall converteres out there for the 3.4 I never had to look.
You are going to have to do some work to your heads to make them to handel the lift and rpm's.

yeah they do, i have jerrico's old one still waiting to go in my car if i ever get some time to put it in :( (i thought i would for sure have a free weekend over the summer that i could have done it... alas i was wrong)

and i agree with the small cam comment... i dont get it either, unless we are just the only weirdos that wanna make a 3.4L fast out there. even colin's cam isnt that agressive IIRC (he has a 3100 in a Jbody that runs a 13.9 NA)

and josh how long has your car been done???? GET THAT THING TO A TRACK, NA and with the bottle

</font>
Man, I thought you would have had that convertor in by now. My cam is 492/512 on the lifts and 112 lsa. My only problem has been getting the power to the wheels. W/ a little luck, I may go to a track this Thursday night. If I do, I'm going to light up the 150 shot!

And it sounds like everyone needs to get to the track.
