The crane 272 cam and a near sock C/R will make enough of vacuum to run a break booster.
If you weigh 99lbs and are anemic you might not beable to handle it.
I have 1.6 roller rockers on the intake and 1.5 roller rockers on the exhasut to give me .481''/.480'' total lift because the cam alone wasn't enough for me.
I never looked for a high stall converter becasue I have a standard transmission. And don't need one.
You can also make your car faster by lightening it and moving weight around.
You could lower you car with coil overs up frount(coil overs are lighter than stock springs and struts). You could move wieight around like moving the battery to the back and lowering the fuel tank.
That should help you launch better.
You could also make you mods out of lighter materals insted of making every thing out of steel. You could make mods out of alternative materals like vacuum formed composits and Titanium.
You would have to make things like SFC's and LCA relocaters out of steel because they need to be welded on to your car.
But things like ajustable torque arm, LCA's, maybe a STB and track bar have alternative materal potential appication.

That was pretty much it, if you wanna get technical the guy I sold my car to ran a 15.3 with a gutted interior, slicks and skinnies, off his trans am.
heads/cam guys shoudl blow my record away Just work on giving the 3.4L more top end, its falls flat up high.

Maybe I should fly you up to IL and you can show me how to drive my car.

SFC's are pretty nice for us vert owners, but are not a necessity for hardtop/T's.

No, SFC connectors are necessary for EVERY f-body. The unibody construction is not the best and I think GM should have manufactured the F-bodys with them standard.
Don't just focus on the motor, save weight and look at ways to improve the suspension. This has already been mentioned, but to give you an idea of what is possible, check this out:
