One of the main reasons that L36 guys aren't getting gains out of doing cam swaps is that intake. A cam makes power by raising the torque to a higher rpm. If you drop in a cam that's designed to make power 5k+ and your intake is setup to make power 2-5k then you have done nothing but lost power everywhere. ZZP will be releasing our High Velocity upper intake manifold insert soon and that will change all this. The prototype worked awesome. Look for some serious L36 performance coming soon...

In stock form the upper intake manifold on the 3800 is designed for low end torque. That is why everyone doing cam swaps in the 3800's has had lackluster performance. Our intake manifold is more of a race piece. Power is made from 4k+

If ur car has trouble idling, it's not getting enough air through the tb/maf in closed position. some people drill holes in their throttle plate. a bigger tb could also be the answer. the tb isn't completely air tight when closed, which is why the car can still idle. many people on the board feel that bigger throttle bodies won't provide significant gains, but when other mods have been done, such as intake, exhaust/cat/headers, cam, perhaps lifters/springs/retainers, and heads, the tb/maf size can affect how well the car runs and may possibly provide more hp, and definately more torque. I know ZZPerformance has a 68mm bore tb, and is workin on a LS1 tb mod. as we speak. Zoomer, could ur bigger bore tb help the idle of the larger duration cams that people r using in their engines? I think they do, but I'd like ur input and opinion.2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

Do you have any idea how much this insert will cost? What all will we need to use this besides the insert itself? Will it be compatible with any cam or make you gain more power from any size cam? Will it throw an ses light or is it pcm friendly?Longtubes, true duals, ram air, caspers tps tec, ls1 26lb injectors, supersix powerpack, heads milled .020, comp cam .507 220/224 114 ls, forged internals and chromeoly pushrods, bored .030 over, tb spacer, tranny built with stiffer springs and kevlar bands, bigger servo, transgo stage 3 shift kit, edge 3600 stall, 1 pc aluminum ds, 3.73 superior gears, lsd rear ,custom pcm tuning, walbro 255 in tank,
