• Possible L36 edit tool?

I emailed the guys at carputing.com, who make the LS1 and LT1 pcm edit tools, and asked them if they had planned on making a pcm tool for the L36 engine. This is the email they sent me back:

"Hi Patrick,
We are hearing interest in this engine. We have not worked on it yet, but are considering it. Unfortunately, we have found it very
difficult to predict whether it can be added easily, or if it will take us quite a few months. We guess it will take some time, but we
do expect to add it eventually.

Thanks,
Dave @ carputing.com"

If they actually come out with this, we can at least delete some of the codes that throw the SES light, like a cam. Anyway, I thought I'd share this information with everyone else.

Better than sending your PCM back 4-5 times to get fuel curves right. Constantly updatable too.

I've been in contact with Dave through emails. I'm going ot need everyone's help. He asked a few simple questions that I easily answered, but he wants a PCM to borrow. Now I'm sure keith has a few, but he's doing his own project with them, so I'm afraid to ask him. I was wondering if anyone had a PCM that they could lend to the carputing people. Now I dont know what year he'd work on since the PCMs are slightly different, but I'm sure any PCM would help. I know Batman fried one.. how expensive are they, with stock programming?

I bet he will want a 2000+ and the 96-97 guys will get the shaft as usual just like hypertech gave us :( Scott i read your comment on sending the pcm back 4-5 times to get the fuel curves correct, If it is done right by a knowledgeable person you shouldnt have to send it back many many times

Even if it is done right the first time, it still doesn't account for any additional upgrades after the programming.

What I'm saying is that with this edit tool you will have it to do tuning on the fly, instead of having to wait. You can make adjustments accordingly to new mods that you get, wheels, tires, gears, heads, cam, blower, turbo, nitrous, etc etc etc........
