How much tension should there be on the timing chain??? I just pulled my cover off and the chain is very loose...I guess its a good thing its being replaced

If its already torn apart and your already in that area of the motor i would say just replace the chain to be on the safe side.Comment

Yeah, definetly replace it. And that is a good choice for a timing chain. I bought a cloyes for mine, but not double roller. Good luck. ;)Originally posted by White95:

I know you need a pully puller and installer. Its pretty straight forward just take the water pump off and there should be another cover bhind that. That is your timing chain cover pull that off and there is your chain. I don't know on the 3.8 but on the 3.4 engine you have to take the power stering pump and tensioner just to get the water pump off and possibly more to get the timin chain cover. Its a pretty simple job just time comsuming. And if you gonna replace the chain replace the sprokets along with it. No since in ****ing you engine up over another 10 or 15 buck part.Comment
