Is there any way to make my own cable for AUTOTAP? I have a cable that came with a Hypertech programmer, looks like printer cable on one side and on the other side it is ODB2 connector. Is this the same type of cable autotap uses?

Autotap uses the same one but it uses a DB9 serial outlet.
the hypertech purposely chose the DB15 so you couldnt use it for that reason.
If you look under your dash, the OBD2 connector actually only uses 4 wires (power, ground, tx, rx).

You need J1850 to RS232 translation box. Check out the VPW section on the OBD Hacking UBB:

My head hurts from going through that board...I know alot about computers, but this stuff is way outta my league...someone wanna give me a quick run-down on how to do some of the **** they're talkin about...I got the OBD-2 cable and software, can I even do anything with that, cause I know theres one screen on obd-2 that I dont know what it does....maybee something like this? ....so confused
