how much horse for cam

Hey i have a question how much faster well horsepower will i see if i do a good cam and head job. Obviously i'd replace the rods also. And re adjust the valves. But just out of curiousity. I have a guy who will put them in for 450 Not including parts is that a good price or bad price to drop a cam in. I'm new so someone help it's a medium raneg cam.

think it'd be easier to tell if you have any specs on the cam. duration, lobe seperation, lift. with a good cam and head work, royse got around 35hp. that's with the supersix package. but ya really gotta give specs to get a decent estimate

It a set custom grinded from compcam they don;t have specs. I fi had the computer retuned do yu think that would help.

Your best bet at a tuned computer is a MAF translator. That is until someone can hack the PCM.

do MAF translators work on electronic Throttle bodies? 99+ Fbodies?

Yes, they only plug into the ignition control circuit and MAF. They have nothing to do with throttle. The new vette's have an electronic TB, and they are advertised to work on those.

I am interested in getting heads and a cam. Does anyone know how much it would cost for installation for both? How do you change the compression ratio?

You can change the compression by milling the heads or getting different pistons.

I'm confused one the hold MAF translater what will this do and give me a link if u could. So i can drop cams in port the heads. And mill them what exactly will i see when milling the heads.
