was gonna take my throttle body off tonight to polish the outside of it....figured as long as I had it off why not do the same to the inside...Ive seen the guide for the LS1 throttle bodies...is it the same or should I not attempt it at all...anyone thats done this before or if you know anything about it, any help would be appreciated....

Polishing can't hurt, just be careful of the MAF sensor of course and don't hone it out too much. A smoother TB might increase horsepower, or it might not, either way it probably can't hurt

Yes you'll need a new gasket to take off and replace the TB. You'll also need a small drain pan to catch the coolant that will drain out(not much) as well as something good to scrap off the old gasket of course.

The ERG mod keeping the air cool? I think your thinking of the coolant bypass mod. This will keep the coolant from heating up the TB. The ERG is in the intake and prohibits small amounts of exhaust going back into the engine. There's not much measureable gain from either of these but it makes sense that it has to help a little.

Just in case you haven't searched the posts before you posted this question, here's a post that asked about the same thing: http://www.camarov6.com/cgi-bin/ulti...&f=25&t=001083

Be careful not to score the aluminum on the intake or TB when removing the gasket. Some gasket remover would help.
