I have some Accel ingintion coils on my car, and today, I shut off my car, went into a store, and came out, and the car was misfiring like a bia! So under close examination... I found out, it was running on 4 cylinders. One coil pack went bad. I have only had the coils for about 4 months. And I was bewildered on why they would go bad. Its a good thing I kept my old ones, I put one of the old ones back on, and it ran fine, after I found out which one was bad. I was wondering if anyone else 3.4 or 3.8 has had problems with the Accel coil packs, or why this one would have gone bad in 4 months. Thanks,

I went through about 5 Accel coils before deciding to switch to MSD coils. Actually if I remember right, it was. That sucks. I guess you just figure performance products are usually better in every way than stock peices. But it goes to show you. I think I will make a switch to MSD soon. It just suck I spent like $95 to learn a mistake. <--- had them ages ago when they first came out.
They experience a heat soak issue, sure you may experience a bit better throttle response but the insulation of them is reduced which, when a car is left idling, will experience a heat soak issue and create missfires.
I went back to stock ones.
I currently run MSD untis thoughRace car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
