so i just ordered hp tuners..i plan on using it for recalibrating the computer for my new 3.42 gear ratio change, 24# injectors, and playing with the timing retard feature during nitrous injection...any tips for someone new to this software?
thanks! ..im proabbly going to just use it to adjust for the 24# injectors and the gear ratio change..then i might sell it...might not...im DEFINITELY going to keep a backup...but say i TOTALLY screw sh*t up...couldnt the dealer just flash my computer back to stock?
Just save a copy of your stock bin though, and you can always reload it to go back to square one if needed... I have about 3 copies of my stock program floating around on 2 pc's and a diskette, just to be safe. :)
cool...i have a burner so i'll just save it on like 3 CDs lol ...im figuring with the 3.42s...24# injectors...maybe some other small modifications to the computer...and a 125 dry shot...i should be able to dip into the high 12s...which is why i got HP Tuners too
possibly...i'll try a 100 - 110 shot first...my fastest ever trap speed on just nitrous was 101mph ..my original goal was just to be well within the 13s...which i was just going to seal the deal on by adding the gears...but upping the injectors will allow me to do so much more with the dry kit...almost allow me to get the power of a wet with the safety of a dry
i was thinking about getting a set of ET streets...cuz im buying a set of salad shooters off a guy on here...i would be so phsyched if i could see that board light up saying 12s when i cross the line in my V6!
im currently doing a tranny swap going from auto to manual, iv heard that ill need to swap my computer and harness. could i use hp tuners software to do the same thing if so i will definately buy it. btw how much did it cost you?

My best time on a dry shot was 13.2, but that was with no tuning... It was 3.42 gears and a 150 shot and 24# injectors.
hmmm...may have to up it to a 150 and tune the living sh*t out of it lol ...im gonna start off with a 100 shot tuned and work my way up...i think its really gonna depend on how much i get out of the gears...if i get like a full 1/2 second...then 12s are possible...but if i only get like 1 - 2 tenths...then i'll probably run about 13.2 ...i gotta see what all the tuning can do for me too...i think with that i could eventually hit high 12s...just depends on what size shot...and traction! ...didnt you say it started leaning out towards the top end and slowed you down a little?...thats what happened to James before he tuned for the 24# injectors
^^yup...i put between 700 - 800 miles on it with the blower (they had it back on when i picked it up) before i uninstalled that and started spraying...so far it sounds and feel totally smooth...but now i'll be able to keep an eye on it
