AZ3.8Camaro ..im looking at the cam on your page that you use..i just had a couple questions..how much did that run you for the parts and labor?..does it set any SES codes?..and finally..how well do you find it works with the nitrous?..im pretty interested in getting a cam and noticed you had this one on your site

Wooo yeah and those dyno numbers mean sooooo much more.
I don't even care, I haven't worked on or raced my car in a year. I don't have the ETs because I didn't have ET streets. Period. If you could claim it, you would, but you can't and you own a damn performance shop.
My v6 is a daily driver for me now, and thats ALL it is. Say what you want, I'm just here to help out those who need it now, not for my benefit.
BTW - Mileage is only 1-2 mpg less than stock (which was about 18-20 in the city with AC on).
Never dyno'd it. Probably never will. </font>
High MPH at the track means you have power. Slow ET's with high mph means you need to work on getting that power to the ground.

also..where did you get it from??
Parts, I think I spent $600 total. I replaced almost all of the valvetrain with new (stock) parts, and I got LS1 springs off of ebay. Gaskets, etc. I also replaced the head gaskets while I was at it.
I did all of the labor myself. So it cost me a couple days.
I get SES codes for o2 sensors every now and then (runs rich without tuning.) but never the p0300 code that everyone gets. Doesn't mean it can't happen, I just don't get them. Don't know if it matter to you, but I passed emissions with this cam, on the rollers with the tailpipe test.
Car is AWESOME on nitrous. This isn't even a "nitrous" cam, but with open headers, you get good exhaust flow anyways, so it works well. I didn't let nitrous affect the cam I bought because I don't use nitrous that often, and I wanted good power in the mean time. A "nitrous" cam is not really important unless you run a massive shot. A good set of headers and free flowing exhaust will serve you well. I ordered it from comp, back before the "GT2" cam was invented. Now it is essentially the GT2 cam, with a different LS. I use a 112. (You may want a 114 if want a more "nitrous" cam.
Anything else you want to know, just let me know.

awesome...thanks a lot man...what do you think about the GT cam (coming from a guy who actually uses one)? ..specs look like this...
This cam was designed for naturally aspirated applications where emissions and street-ability are important. It will not set SES lights.
The GT cam uses steep ramp rates and tight base lobes to keep the computer and the sniffer happy while still providing a meaty lobe for great performance. This cam does not set the P0300 code and can be installed on a stock 3800 all the way to radical. It was designed for the the NA L36 but will also work well with nitrous or intercooled boost.
Look for gains of 20-30 HP depending on your car's current configuration.

Exhaust Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)

...its got 113 LSA (closer to the 114) says it works well with nitrous...what do you think?
Guys, enough of the pointless babble. Lets keep this thread nice and on topic. I think what we have going is a great idea but if you cant post in this thread like mature adults i will be forced to lock it.

Seriously guys, don't screw up my thread. I didn't just pull all of that cam info out of my a$$ on the initial draft. It took my hours and hours of research.
AZ3.8 and onequickv6, please delete your bickering posts so we don't start a flame war.

I deleted what I could without loosing the informative parts of my post.

This reminds me, all of my times are at 3300 feet elevation, I don't know what the DA was, but it is never very cold here in the winter. So that plays a factor as well. Just as in OneQuickV6s case, some power gains by our cams will be negated by the fact that we don't live back east where it is cold and colder, as do most of the record holders.

This is the ZZP GT cam. Seppo can attest to its awesome power. It is the largest cam that can be used with stock valvesprings and cylinder heads. It will not set the SES light. I haven’t heard it, but based on the duration, I bet it lopes quite well at idle. Seppo achived 220rwhp on the dyno, which is a respectable 60hp gain over the stock 160rwhp. It should make power up to 6000rpm. Texas-speed.com can provide a quality ECM tune to match this cam, although it is not required. I would recommend this cam for all those looking for “good mid range power”.

thats figuring in that he dynoed 160 before the cam, which i doubt, thats kind of low.
