well, actually the plug was completely blacked out, but it wasnt goupy or anything, it was completely dry, so is that actually lean??

also i do have my o2 sim after the cat, but when my friend put the car back together he said that there was no ground wire to tap the sensor into or something?? its plugged in but not "hooked up" right now i think i dont really know about it

i should be able to switch the coil packs today before i go to work and see what happens, oh and i emailed that ls1dave guy, just trying to find out where his shop is, in case i need some help, which im sure i will.

If it's black and dry, then I believe you're either running a little rich, or not firing completely.

If it was wet, then that could be from:
      - not firing at all, or
      - that injector leaking or stuck open

If it was goopy, then it would be oil getting past the rings or a valve seal.

(a lean plug will be ultra clean, and the insulator may be blistered)

My o2 sim doesn't have a ground. It just has a connector that mates to the wiring harness. The outside of an o2 sensor is metal and is attached to the metal exhaust, but a sim is fully enclosed in plastic, so there's no way to ground the case of the sim...

ok.. i solved the problem!!! :D

just to let you guys know, it turns out that it was a bad upper o-ring on my injector, which was causing it to leak fuel all over up by the intake, which is crazy cuz ive driven it for like 2 weeks now with a puddle of gas right next top my coil packs, im so lucky it didnt ignite. that also explains the strong smell of gas and me thinking that i was just running really rich.

so i replaced the o-ring, and that fouled plug and its runnin good, although i think i still might need that mini-afc... (im supposed to get it today) because now that i dont have a misfire i should notice the power increasse of the cam, but i dont notice as much as i thought i would. would the ses light from that o2 be putting me in 'safe mode'?? oh and i guess it wasnt a ground wire on my sensor, but my friend said that it was plugged in but he didnt know where to tap the wire??

          Congrats on the o-ring find!!

The mini-afc may help, but you need a way to monitor your o2 readings. In order to know which way to adjust it, and by how much...

I don't know about the ses light and "safe" mode. I think there are some other cammed folks on here, who have the light but no performance problem related to the light.
