I keep hearing about getting l67 internals for our cars to withstand higher boost level, but I don't hear about how the crankshaft will hold up. How much hp/tq can you put on it before you break it? will I need to get the whole rotating assembly balanced when I put l67 rods/pistons in later on? since forged rods are lighter than cast rods, I figure that I will have to have it balanced so I don't lose power due to unequal weight. If I do need to have it balanced, should I just get it knife-edged or just reduce the outer diameter of the counterweight itself, or should I just get a custom forged crank and leave it at that? Thanks for your imput.

Its a good idea, whatever you go with, to have your assembly hardened and blueprinted/balanced before installing it yes.
I would imagine that the L36 crank can handle nearly 500ftlbs without breaking, its a rare thing to break the crank but it has happened. If you want to make sure it won't break, buy a custom steel one, you should have no issues with that.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

I don't know what he did to break that but I've seen cams bending and push rods bending, and rods bending and the crank is ok. My teacher showed us a bent up cams that used a 300 shot of NOS. I don't know how much poundage a crank can take but that is something I would think of last when it comes to breaking.
