  • hole in lifter??

so i was putting the car back together today. i put all my lifters in, and as i'm putting the last one in, i take a look at it. there's a hole in one side, and no hole in the other side.

i pop open the helm manual & take a look in there, but there aren't any instructions regarding lifter orientation (besides how the roller has to go)

so what's with the hole? i assume it doesn't matter 'cause helm doesn't say anything about it....any thoughts??

its probably where the oil goes into the lifter then up the pushrod come out under the rocker arm...

It's an oil supply hole. It doesn't matter how you position the lifter because it rotates during operation.
