Heads and cam install

I just got quoted $400-$600 for install. Is this good or am I getting raped? He also said I will need to replace my head gaskets and get new GM head bolts, along with intake manifold gaskets and front cover gaskets and maybe oil pan gaskets. Does this sound right? How much extra you think it is for all the gaskets and bolts.

raped??? i paid $800+. you WILL need to get a full gasket set for around $130. the new bolts is a darn good idea though i did not do it. i would have if i had thought about it. might also want to invest in a new timing chain $40. might as well also put in a new thermostat also. $400-600--i hope this is a friend of yours.

Funny you mention, yes this is a friend of mine. Its actually a friend of a friend. I have never met the guy but my friend is in real close with him. Well that makes me feel better. I was going to try the install myself but for $400 I cant pass it up. I am also talking to him about a custom turbo setup. He has done a lot of those. If the price is right I will be getting that too.

Yes that is quite cheap.
Just to get the heads ported etc the first time plus labor, parts, and taxes it was $1250
