get this! i called gearsareus.com and ordered a hypertech power programer. they advertise them for $309 which is what they sold it to me for. i work out of town, so it is at home unopened i believe. but the same day i ordered it i was on the hypertech website and asked for a little information. this is the reply i got

but now i have another question
is it compatible with a maft+????? is there anybody using both?

Sure, you can use all the options but the power tuning, or perhaps use the power tuning and tweak with the MAFT+ to see if you can get *more* gains than what the HPP3 provides. It does gearing and redline and speedo calibrations so thats pretty good in itself!

my concern is if i use the power tuning on the hpp3 but on the maft+ leave the base at 0 or even change it, will that pizz off the hpp3? does that make any sense? i am hoping one will not cancel out the other.

I wish we knew what the HPP3 changed as far as fuel and timing - with autotap you'll be able to see exactly how far it takes our cars. Then you can decide to autotap it further or not.

The hpp3 only have two fuel settings. 87 and 92, it doesnt have the ability to change it along the rpm band or tweak it to your car.
