  • finally got a cam.. got some questions

sup everyone, well i have been talknig **** for over a year on getting a cam.. (i'm memeber 443) anyway i got the VS cam from compcam. i think this is going to be good since i'm running juice. it's not too aggressive and i don't want to mess with my heads at all. anyway. i need a cam install guide or i need to find a place to get this thing put in. tom@SSM is like 3 hrs from me so i might just have him do it. i don't want to pay more than 500 for the install. i'd rather do it myself if there is a guide out there. what else do i need to order from a proper install..

Not with the VS cam, it doesn't lift high enough to warrant new springs etc. THats one of the perks of it. But, its rather mild and I believe someone said to expect little or no gain on an NA car. Nitrous maybe a couple of HPs.

You lost your password again. You loser. Maybe one of the admins can help you out. You know you are supposed to make the password easy to remember. Haha just kiddin.

So what are the specs of your cam?

FOr install you will need a new timing chain, front cover gasket, rocker arm bolts, upper and lower intake manifold gaskets and Cam lube. Tom told me he charges $1,000 for the complete power pack to be installed. So $500 for a cam install maybe. I think if you shop around $500 for a cam install is about the right price.

i got the power pack installed for about $800 when i did it. to remove the heads again this time it cost me $600. i cant believe you would buy a cam and not even know this just yet. i guess that is why they have licenses for people to buy dynomite, soon it will be for cams as well. ;) just giving you a hard time. good luck whatever you do.
6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.
