  • Cam Question... Yes, I know theres alot now...

Well, I am not asking what is the best or what performance but I want to know what is the highest cam that we can use on STOCK springs, rods, etc.? Or at least run stock peices for a little bit. i have money ready to order cam, but not enough right now to go all out with the springs and such. Have looked at other posts and noone seems to give a definite limit to the specs with stock parts. Please if anyone here is running, or can give numbers to the highest cam. Also looking for this to be a streetable and no SES light cam. thanks. Sorry if this is a lame question, but please dont give me an answer like "try the search button" just delete it and I will get the picture. Thanks in advance.

I personally wouldnt go over 0.45" lift on stock springs, I head 0.5" is streetable but why risk it.

You can still get alot of power out of a cam by adding a bunch of duration and still running low lifts. I say dont run any more than .5 like dominic said .45 sounds about right.

ZZPerformance sells a VS cam that can supposedly run on stock valvetrain components and not set off a ses light. www.ZZPerformance.com

I am in the same boat also. As i am searching for a cam that i can still keep my stock springs and retainers, also something taht will not set off an SES light.

I buddie of mine that i just got done talkin with told me that comp 206/212 114lsa is a very good cam for N/A. This cam not only is computer friendly but it is stock valvetrain friendly also. :D
