  • Need information on a 3.4 from a 94 Camaro

    I noticed in the engine tech pages there is a chart on 'how stroke and bore affect cubic inches'. This chart is only for a 3.8. I am wondering if one was developed for the 3.4. Or if anyone knows the mathematical formula, that would be nice. I am overhauling one and I would like to know.
    Thanks,
    Jim

      Displacement = (Bore/2)^2 * Stroke * Pi * (Number of Cylinders).

      So...
      For my 422 cu. in. LS1, I am running a 4" Stroke, 4.1" bore and of course, 8 cylinders.

      (4.1/2)^2*(4)*Pi*(8)=Displacement
      (2.05)^2*(4)*3.141*(8)= 422.40 cu. in.

      Change the numbers for the 3.4L V6 and you're good to go!
