  • car hits a ceiling top-end

    ok,
whenever i really get on my car it pulls ok until i get to about 4500rpm's, at that point its like its starting to pull harder then it just levels off, almost like its at the limiter but its not (limiter is 6000 on my car, i want to raise it to 63-6400), so what could it be, if im not getting enough fuel top end would it act like that? also i almost wanna say its something in the drivetrain, like it just gets harder for the engine to get the wheels movin, i know that sounds wierd but it feels wierd, could i just need a oil change or somethin? i think im up to date, as long as the dealership changed the oil twice after the cam install like i told them, otherwise im still runnin on the oil and filter that picked up any shrapnel from the new cam/valvetrain/gaskets. Or could a new cam just change my hp/tq curve that it just feels different than what im used to?

i dont even have my g-tech down here to try and see if its actually slower than what it g-teched before, but ill try it when im back up there on the 11th.

let me know what you guys think. its bothering me.

So, you are saying that the car doesn't pull as hard towards the redline?

Well... There is a thing called the powerband

When you get to either side of this band, the engine is no longer making the most power it can.

Unless i'm not understanding your question.
I'd assume that you already realize and understand this concept. I dunno

did you just get that cam in? like has this happened since you got the cam in? i'd think it's just the new powerband if that's the case.

maybe get it atapped & check out your voltages...maybe there's not enough fuel in there in the higher rpms? you could get it dynoed too...seat of your pants dyno means JACK..show me the numbers...maybe you're making the power, but with the cam it just feel like it.

            ok,
well i found out another thing, another o-ring on my injector on the other bank was leaky, so i replaced all the o-rings on that side. obviously the car is runnin better now, but i seem to only notice that ceiling or hesitation in first gear, once i get in high rpm's in 2nd it pulls real hard, i havent gotten on it enough to see if it does this EVERY time or not. i really wanna get it hooked up on a dyno or something and see what my fuel map looks like. oh, and by the way, could someone clarify the differences and advanteges between autotap and a dyno??

a dyno won't tell you if you have KR.
