IM not sure WHERE this topic would go so i put it here. Mods if it goes somewhere else feel free to move it THanks.

ANYHOW, DO they make aftermarket Polyurethane motors mounts for our cars? If so what would the benefits be of swapping them out. I mean we swap everything else out for polyurethane or the 1LE stuff. So why wouldnt we do the motor mounts too? With the stiffer mount in the transmission it puts more power to the ground if i understand it correctly because the transmission isnt moving around as much. WELL if the motor isnt moving around as much wouldnt that put more power to the ground or something? Ive heard of people not even using motor mounts and just welding the motor into the car, but i never understood the reasoning behind it. ANy replies would be great. Thanks guys.

Use motor mounts. Hard mounts are only for racing applications. You really wouldn't like the vibration. You're going to have to stick with rubber for the motor mounts, but there is a poly trans mount. Check with Energy Suspension.

Already got the Tranny mount thats why im asking about the motor mounts. I myself dont mind the vibration at all. Gives it a "FAST" car feel. That sounds kinda rice like but hey i like doing stuff to my car.

Vibrations like that could break your glass and loosen bolts. If you like replacing glass and bolts, why not?

if thats the case then why would my buddy use them in HIS camaro. Granted its a 79 but he still has the original GLASS all the way around and never had a problem. Nor has he had a problem with bolts loosening themselves due to his poly motor mounts. Hes pushing around 450-500 horse at the wheels, and thats gonna cause a HELLUVA lot more vibration that my 3.8 is going to.

No, I'm talking hard mounts(weld in). Poly mounts would probably work just fine, but nobody makes them for our cars.
