Fuel line

well i am installing a supercharger and i need to disconnect the fuel return line at the front of the intake manifold and it says i need a special tool does anyone know what it is or where i can get this tool

you can probably get it at autozone or any autoparts store.

To take those fuel lines apart you need a GM "quick disconnect" tool. The fuel lines in the engine compartment use a different quick disconnect than the ones for the sending unit, or fuel filter. At least thats what i've heard i haven't had to mess with those lines for any reason.

Got to the auto parts store and get a fuel line disconnect tool.

The fuel disconnect tools can be purchased at Autozone for a couple of bucks...they come in a pack of five or six and are different sizes. That's what you are looking for.

um, you just need one GM QUICK DISCONECT TOOL. a couple of bucks. It looks sorta like a pair of scissors. One end is 3/8" the other end is 5/16"

First remove gas cap and then bleed fuel rail at the fuel rail schrader valve...use a rag to cover schrader valve...fuel may spray hard for half a second.

The fuel IN line is 3/8 and the fuel return line is 5/16

Remove the rubber boot and the metal boot retainer from the connection. slip the appropriate sized end of the disconnect tool onto the fuel line. Push the two sections of fuel line TOGETHER and then insert the disconnect tool. Push the tool all the way in and the fuel line will come apart. This should be a VERY easy thing. If you are forcing things and getting no where then you are doing it wrong. Do not bend the fuel rail. much badness will result if you break the fuel rail.
LOOK at the ends of the FMU and you will see how the tool works. It just spreads the retainers inside the connection. VOILA.

Before starting a car with new fuel connections I always turn on the fuel pump and observe the line for possible leaks. When the car is first started I also have a fire extenguisher at the ready and a buddy to turn off the car if need be. Modding high pressure fuel lines is serious stuff…take care and take precautions. Double and triple check your new fuel connections before and after test-drives until you feel comfortable that all is good and secure.
