i was thinking about having some made and having all of then replaced w/ lighter aluminum ones. I was wondering, if i made an underdrive(smaller pulley) for the crankshaft, would it be ok? I know the the pulley has a harmonic balancer, and I'm wondering what would happen if the engine didn't have the balancer, would there be too much end-play w/ the crankshaft?

When I talked to ASP about having some custom ones made for the 3.8L, they said that the crank timing trigger is built onto the harmonic balancer. This being the case, I don't think you would wanna eliminate it.
