i checked out the comp cams seen at the grandprix store 'n on the gtp, it had a 30hp w/ 30 lb-ft torque increase... all for under $300. this sounds pretty good, however, is it the same for our cars??? are there any other brands that i should look for w/in the same price range? also... my friend said he's installed cams on supras, 'n he could do it on my car for free... w/o a lift 'n w/o MAJOR tools, is this possible??? THANKS!!! any help would be great!

That cam is a good choice, but make sure that you are getting the cam that is built for the GT, not GTP! You can tell because the cam for our cars is the L36 cam, not the L67 cam. The L67 is the one for the cars with a blower on em, which we don't have. If you have friends that can help you do the swap free that is great, it will save you a LOT of money. It should take around 6-8 hours. You won't really need major tools to do it, but that depends on your definition of major. A lift is also not needed. Hope this helps.
By the way, how do you like that Super Thruster 3500 converter? Is the stall too high for your car, do you like how it is performing? In the market for a converter, and no one really has a high stall on the V6. Thanks.
scott, thanks for the advice, that really helps. as for the converter, i just bought it last week and i'm having it installed by a friend next week (i was pretty anxious to include it in my sig b/c i wanted to see it in writing). as soon as i get it in, i'll shoot you an email and let you know how it handles. as for the high stall, i talked w/ the owner/maker of Yank TC's and he said that a 3500 stall on the V6 will produce the same effect as a 3200 stall on a V8 (which isn't too high), so... hope this helps.
