Ok, I decided to do a mild port and polish job on the upper and lower intake manifolds, no big deal really. I got lots of stuff done in the process, got the coils and bracket off, removed the egr setup, removed the alternator and unplugged and removed my throttle body, none of it was a big deal. Now the big problem, the fuel rail. I dont know what to do with this thing, first of all there are clips on the injectors which are a PITA to get off. But I eventually got all of those off decently well. Next, as guided by the Haynes manual i depressurized the fuel rail using the schreader valve it has, no biggie. Now, the fuel rail does not want to budge b/c of the bolts it has to the upper intake manifold, two of which on the driver's side look IMPOSSIBLE to reach without removing the fuel lines. Now the big question, what the heck am I supposed to do to get this all off??? A good detailed set of instructions would be beyong appreciated! Thanx again!

I dont have a solid answer to this question.. However i got a good look at those things today while i had my valve covers off..
And yeah.. thats my advice.. take of the valve covers if you have not already done so...
there are bolts that become more accessable then..
BTW the engine hoist bracket on the back of the passenger side IS a PITA... gota go it from under the car.. and all i can say is good luck..
hope that this helps..

Ok, I went searching through the past posts about this topic and the general consensus seems to be that you need to remove the altenator, electrical connectors on the injectors, coils, and etc that is in the way. Next I have to disconnect the fuel lines and this I don't have a clue how to do. Then I'm supposed to just gently twist and pull each injector loose (while still attached to the rail) and then just remove the whole assembly at once? Correct me if i'm wrong and provide some info on how to disconnect the fuel lines if you could please!C. OK, don't remove the injectors from the rails. Leave them attached. You need to take the 4 bolts off that hold the rail on and pull the rail and injectors out all together. 1/4" ratched and a deep socket should fit under the cowl. The injectors have rubber o-rings that hold them into the intake. They are in there tight, you may need something small to pry up on the fuel rail to pop them out.
On the fuel line. You need to buy a special tool from the parts store. It a small white plastic clip that slides down into the fuel line to unlock the prongs. They come in sets of about five and are also known as Ford AC line removal tools.Michael Huff
92 RS, 98 V6, 97 SS, 00 Z28
http://www.carolinafbodyclub.com/
