    LASH(rod & rocker)

    = up & down play, or
    = side to side play?

    [img]graemlins/twak.gif[/img] ...help settle this argument I'm having with a friend.

    and finally, when the lash is "0", you should have about 1/2 a turn of preload in your lifters before you start your last 3/4 valve adjustment turn?...right?

    You need about 1/4-1/2 turn preload on a hydraulic lifter. On a solid flat tappet or solid roller, you will have to leave lash.

      lash= up & down play, or
      = side to side play?

        what are you talking about? there is not pushrod lash. They will have pressure on them because the lifters will be preloaded.

          I twist the pushrod in my finger and move it up and down as I am tightening the adjusting nut. When I cannot twist it (at that exact point), I turn 3/4 more of a turn
