Somebody here in town can put new valves in for me...
I got a free set of LS1 valves brand new when I bought my springs.
Stock is 1.80 Intake and 1.52 Exhaust.
LS1 is 2.00 Intake an 1.55 exhaust.
I think it would make some pretty good gains,
do you guys think they would fit?
How do the stem diameters match up?
Valve seals might be a problem...
How do the LS1 and L36 seats/seals match up?

provided ive never seen a 3.8 head, but adding a .2 inch larger intake valve would be huge.. i really doubt it will fit , the exhaust may be a possibility
if the valve stems are the same diameter, i think they are, then you could use the stock valve seals

It will depend on how the haeds flow....
220 CFM from 3 different companies does not mean you will see the same results. I have the flow numbers from the 3 companies doing our heads and they all put down high CFM numbers @ .500 but down low they suck. Our v6's need as much CFM down low and mid to make any real power for decent track times....
I will give a qucik example....
SUPER Six intake flow @ .200 123.9
Thrasher intake flow @ .200 124.4
Intense intake flow @ .200 131.0
Now take the number @ .200 that I ported 143.0
Like I said I am giving an example....
I am out flowing them across the board up too .400
They use bigger valves to bring the high numbers @ .500 but to me those numbers dont mean anything if you cannot produce the low end torque needed for the track.

thats true, the big numbers are what sells, but the higher mid-range numbers are what run, the short turn is VERY critical to get good flow, my dad has been porting heads for 25-30 years and is just now starting to get to where he can do the short turns on any kind of heads w/o having to do much extra flow bench tuning...im ready to see what he can do w/my heads!
