I was cruising around the street racing scene 2 fridays ago when I met up with a friend who has a highly modded 95 TA.. he told me it was for sale, I thought about it.. He rev'd it.. I'm like yea..... time to get rid of the 6..

Thought about buying is car.. but I hate the LT1.. so I figure what the heck, why not just throw an LS1 in my car..

and so it began.

If I had money I would have done the same thing. ITs all about how fast you can go. Keith is reaching the potential of the 3.8 with not much left to mod. He has already ran a very impressive 13.6 na. He says he wants 11's NA. He will never get that fast with a V6 so it is time for him to swap.

i'm fairly certain the fastest LT1 motor is faster than the fastest LS1 ;)

i'm glad you are doing it and are happy about and all...but come on, the fact that you've spent so much damn money and time on that v6, and the fact that it's probably as fast as, maybe even faster than what your ls1 will run stock, it just doesn't make much sense that you are just going to switch all of a sudden.

well, either way, i hope you are happy with whatever you do. i know for sure that if i pulled up next to you with your v6 in your car, i'd be in much more awe than i would be if i pulled up to you in an ls1, and that's all honesty, keith.

good luck man.

I got MAD props for the V6 all over town. Many people ask me if it's really a 6.

I'm sure the LS1 in a 97 will turn some heads.

With my weight reduction, my stock engine will be faster than quite a few others out there, plus rolling on nittos and skinnies helps... oh yea.. and the TTS long tubes I have. ;)

eh, the majority of people that see your car won't know that you have an ls1 in there, so the turning heads thing prolly won't hold so true with that.

but, regardless, i was just making a point that i think you'd impress many more people if you had kept your v6 in your car, especially if they happen to encounter you one day on the street. nevertheless, i definetely understand the "move on to bigger and better things," but your car was pretty "bigger" and pretty "better," which makes me wonder why you changed.

My thoughts excacly! I could not have said it any better my self. None of us would mind makeing a V8 go fast but when you do it in a V6 it is a different story. Personal i rather give more props to a person that made their V6 run low 13s-high 12s all motor than somebody that did an LS1 swap for the V6 and is now running those times because of the LS1. People wonder why we donot have alot of V6s in the 12sec range and even one in the 11sec range and it is because ethier A) they trade their 6 for an SS or Z or B) they swap in a V8. I really don't like the stang V6s but i will give the owners props because they are decated to there cars and they try to make them as fast as they can. Not maney people are willing to do that over here and i feel somewhat sadden by it. The 3.8 has so much pontetal but not maney people want to take the time to fully explore it. Most just give up and take the easy way out, which is a V8. I am not trying to dog on you Keith on your desion but that is just how i feel.

hey, no hard feelings at all. I appreciate all of your feedback.

I've put plenty of time and $$$ into the V6. I've recieved my props for it and am proud of what I have done.. but it's time for me to see what I can do with an LS1.

I just need that V8 sound with the added power.

My LS1 plans:
sub 3000 lb car (like it already is)
big cam, converter, gear

I'd like to hit 10's NA with that setup. It's basically my V6 setup with only 2 more cyl's.
