I'm sorry that your friend didn't research it much- MTI just got done doing a sale on anything from a lowbuck aluminum block 377 to a 434ci iron block.

uhhhhh you do realize that the 3.8 in your car is a Buick 3.8 right? I'm sure you're talking about the turbo 3.8 though.

      • well i have always been thinking about doing a v8 swap. But i probably wouldnt do it if i could just make my v6 sound more like a v8. plus if you have a v6 thats makeing 600hp then you will get more heads then if you have a v8 makeing 800. the main reason is it takes alot more to get a v6 to 600hp then it does to get a v8 to 800hp. plus just the satisfaction that you know that your v6 can run with the big boys should be good enough.

the L36 is such a strong motor... problem is people don't do things the right way and blow it up. ;)

A perfect NA L36 in a practical sense could hit low 13's NA and EASILY mid 11's with power adder.

AMEN! i am living proof. i too was like all you young bucks that want a fast V6, but when i found out it wasnt practical anymore i had no problems doing the swap.
6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.
